What is the process of Electro Galvanized Wire?
Electro galvanized wire
Electro galvanised wire (cold galvanized wire) is made by means of wire drawing followed by heat treatment and electro galvanizing.
The galvanizing is made with mild steel or carbon steel wire in the plating bath, through the electric current unipolarity making zinc plating gradually on the surface. The galvanizing speed is slow to ensure a uniform coating, with thin thickness, usually only 3 to 15 microns. The outward appearance of electro galvanised steel wire is bright, the corrosion resistance is poor, the wire will get rust in a few months. Relatively the cost of electro galvanizing is low than hot dip galvanizing.
The following is electro galvanized wire process:
Steel rod coil →Wire Drawing → Wire Annealing → Rust Removing → Acid Washing →Boiling → Zinc Feeding → Drying → Wire Coiling
Wire diameter: BWG8# to BWG16#.
Materials: Carbon steel wire, mild steel wire.
Size range: 0.40mm-4.5mm
Weight of Zinc coating: 20 g/m2- 70 g/m2
Applications:
Electro galvanized wire can be used in communication equipment, medical devices, weaving wire mesh, brush, tightrope, filtered mesh, high pressure pipe, architecture craftwork, etc.
Packing:
In coils and from 0.7kg/coil to 800kg/coil then each coil to be wrapped inside with plastic film and outside with Hessian cloth or inside with plastic film and outside with weaving bag.
Packing can be done according to customer's request.
